Version 1.0 · Last updated 17 October 2026 · 3 minute read

An Excel workbook for what a Singapore family owns and owes: property, loans, insurance, investments, savings and CPF, and other assets. It works out your net worth. No sign-up and no email address.

Small Excel files (.xlsx). The example copy holds made-up data for a fictional family, so you can see how it fits together.

What is inside

Dropdown lists stop typing mistakes. The sheet names and column names match the FamilyHub SG app's own Excel export.

How net worth is worked out

Assets are your property values, investments, savings and CPF balances, other assets, and any insurance surrender value you can already access. Liabilities are the current balance of every loan. Net worth is assets minus liabilities. Every amount is in Singapore dollars.

Start in three steps

  1. Type one row for each property, loan, policy, investment, account or asset. Leave a cell empty if you do not know.
  2. Enter every amount in Singapore dollars. Convert a foreign amount at today's rate first.
  3. Open the Dashboard.

Type money as a plain number such as 450000, a rate such as 3.9 for 3.9%, and dates such as 15 Mar 2027. Check CPF balances against the CPF website (Singpass login) and policy details against your policy papers. The sheet is only as accurate as what you type.

What it does not do

It does not warn you about dates or send reminders, and it does not work out premium due dates. It has no cash-flow or projection charts, stores no photos, handles one currency only, and cannot share or sync between family members. The FamilyHub SG app covers these.

Check it before you rely on it

We compared every Dashboard total with a separate calculation, covering CPF, surrender values that are not yet accessible, and amounts typed as text. That check was done in LibreOffice. The file is built for Microsoft Excel. We have not been able to check Google Sheets or Apple Numbers, so compare the Dashboard with your own sums if you use either.

Keep it safe

Save it somewhere private and back it up. Do not type full account numbers, card numbers, passwords or NRIC numbers; the last four digits are enough. Tell one person you trust where the file is.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. There is nothing to sign up for and no email address to hand over. Use it, copy it and share it.

Does anything I type leave my computer?

No. It is an ordinary Excel file with no macros and no internet connection. We never see what you type. It stays wherever you save it.

Can I import the spreadsheet into the FamilyHub SG app?

Not yet. It may come in future, and if you would like it, email [email protected]. The sheet and column names match the app's own Excel export, so you can type or paste your rows across in the meantime.

What about foreign currency?

Enter everything in Singapore dollars. Convert a foreign amount at today's rate first.

A note on who wrote this. This page is by the founder of FamilyHub SG, who is not a licensed financial adviser. The spreadsheet is a record-keeping tool. It is general information, not financial, legal or tax advice.

Outgrown the spreadsheet?

FamilyHub SG is a free beta app for Singapore households. It keeps the same records, shares them with your family as viewers or editors, lists what is due in the next 90 days, holds photos of your home items, and shows net worth and cash-flow projections. You can export everything to Excel at any time.
